Zimbabwe’s famed gospel musician Everton Mlalazi is expected to debut in Nigeria this Sunday for a Christmas Concert.

Much more than spreading the gospel the concert will ensure that Mlalazi’s music now transcends borders expanding into west Africa.

The concert is scheduled for Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mlalazi is among a host of other top gospel musicians for what has been dubbed ‘Sinach and Friends Love Feast’

Hosted by Nigeria’s high riding gospel musician — Sinach — who performed in Zimbabwe at least twice before sellout crowds, the Christmas Concert is likely to surpass that mark considering the magnitude of the line-up.

Also to be featured at the concert are Judikay, Grace Nation, Da Music, Ada, Nosa, 121 Selah and Chris Shalom among other heavy hitters.

In an interview with Gem Nation News, the down-to-earth Mlalazi said he was excited to be join Sinach at the concert.

“I am so excited to be invited by Sinach to Nigeria for the “love feast” Christmas concert with Sinach and Friends,” Mlalazi said.

“When your music gets the opportunity to break into West Africa, you can’t help it but get excited because there is also a huge demand for gospel music in that region.”

Asked if there was any chance for Mlalazi to collaborate with the Way Maker, he said:

“I have been in constant touch with Sinach and Pastor Joe (her husband) since she performed here in Zim at the beginning of the year.

“They then invited me for this one and we are planning more collaborative concerts together.”

But Mlalazi really fits the bill considering how he has endeared himself well with Zimbabwean gospel music fans.

Many of his fans will remember how lavish his 40th birthday celebrations were in Bulawayo.

It was a homecoming birthday celebration in his hometown where he began his ministry as a member of Seventh Day Adventist Christian.
