Zimbabwe’s tourism sector continues to gain global attention after the country was proudly selected as one of only six exhibition stands for a special guided visit organised by the team at ITB Berlin in Germany.
The curated visit placed the spotlight firmly on Zimbabwe’s tourism offering, drawing international trade professionals to the Zimbabwe stand for an exclusive engagement with the country’s tourism leadership.
All eyes turned to the Zimbabwe stand as the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi, delivered a compelling presentation to a delegation of 30 international travel trade visitors.
The Minister was recently honoured as African Minister of the Year by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA), further highlighting Zimbabwe’s growing influence in the global tourism sector.
During the engagement, Minister Rwodzi showcased Zimbabwe’s diverse tourism offering, ranging from its iconic natural attractions and world-class wildlife to its rich cultural heritage, vibrant cuisine and authentic travel experiences.
The presentation created an opportunity for international travel professionals to interact directly with the Zimbabwe delegation, strengthening partnerships and boosting confidence in the destination.
The engagement comes at a time when Zimbabwe’s tourism profile is rising globally. The country was recently named one of the “Must Visit Destinations for 2025” by Forbes magazine, placing it among the world’s most exciting emerging travel destinations.
Renowned for attractions such as the breathtaking Victoria Falls — one of the world’s largest waterfalls and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — Zimbabwe also offers exceptional safari experiences in destinations like Hwange National Park and Mana Pools National Park.
These attractions, combined with the country’s warm hospitality and unique cultural experiences, continue to attract global travellers seeking authentic African adventures.
Zimbabwe’s presence at ITB Berlin — one of the world’s leading travel trade exhibitions — reflects the country’s strategy to expand its international tourism footprint, strengthen industry partnerships and promote sustainable tourism growth.
With increasing international recognition and strong participation at major global travel platforms, Zimbabwe is steadily reinforcing its position as one of Africa’s most compelling tourism destinations.
