Can the Scottish superstars claim glory in ‘Clash at the Castle’?

Scottish superstars Drew McIntrye and Piper Niven will be chasing championship gold in the key matches at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland, which is set to be held at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on the evening of Saturday 15 June 2024.

Niven will face WWE Women’s Champion Bayley in a singles match, with the wrestler formerly known as ‘Doudrop’ looking to become the second Scottish woman to claim the title after Nikki A.S.H. back in 2021.

Niven has promised that she will make quick work of Bayley – with the ominous prospect of a showdown with ‘Queen of the Ring’ Nia Jax down the line not bothering her for now.

“I’m not thinking about Nia Jax and how she has inserted herself into this situation,” said Niven.

“All I care about is taking down Bayley, getting the one-two-three and becoming the new WWE Women’s Champion.”

The WWE Heavyweight Championship will see a revival of the Damian Priest v Drew McIntyre rivalry. McIntyre briefly held this title at WrestleMania when he defeated Seth Rollins, only for Priest to cash in his ‘Money in the Bank’ contract and defeat McIntyre immediately after he got his hands on the belt – with a little bit of help from McIntyre’s nemesis, CM Punk.

McIntyre will have huge support in Glasgow as he looks to reclaim the Heavyweight Championship – though Priest has warned the ‘Scottish Warrior’ that more disappointment is in his future.

“That’s your game plan? To get under my skin?” Priest taunted McIntyre. “That’s your best shot? That the crowd is gonna boo me? Drew, I literally have made a living out of proving people wrong.

And I’ll do just that at Clash at the Castle… and then I won’t be the one who gets booed by a Scottish crowd.”

The match card also features Sami Zayn v Chad Gable in a singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship; Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill v Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark v The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre; Isla Dawn) in a triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship; and an ‘I Quit Match’ between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Rhodes defeated Styles at WWE Backlash in France last month, but this rematch sees ‘The Phenomenal One’ determined to get revenge… but he’ll have to up his game to get the better of

‘The American Nightmare’.
