Carling Black Label Pool National Finals were held at the weekend in Masvingo where Patricia Ganya and Lindani Gumpo emerged top in ladies and men competitions respectively.
Both Ganya and Gumpo won top cash prize of US$1500.
Second placed were Alice Chihota and Vinctent Mufudza in the ladies and men competitions respectively. The two also won US$1000 apiece.
In third place were Mercy Musekiwa and Francisco Lunga in ladies and men competition, they both won US$500 apiece.
And finally, fourth placed Jamilia Mponda and Thanks Matamba in ladies and men competitions respectively won US$250 each.
In a speech read on her behalf Patricia Murambinda, Delta Corporation General Manager – Corporate Affairs said the event was a fulfilment of the commitment by the brand to the development of sports in the country.
“As a reminder, our prizes are First prize: a pool table and USD$1 500 Second prize: USD$1 000 Third prize: USD$500 Fourth prize: USD$250 The prizes apply to both men and women.
“The prizes apply to both male and female segments. Carling Black Label has been sponsoring pool for more than 10 year and we continue to reward champions at play,” she said.
“Sports continue to play a role in building communities and resonates well with the brands manifesto to inspire and rally individuals into being better versions of themselves whenever possible.
“Rising to the level of a Champion takes hardwork. We encourage our CHAMPIONS to play and enjoy responsibly.”
