The semifinals resume on Tuesday evening in the French capital, with Borussia Dortmund taking
on hosts Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes. The German side claimed a narrow 1-0 home
win in the first leg, and striker Niclas Fullkrug insists they will remain focused for this decisive
game.
“It was an incredible atmosphere [in Dortmund],” said Fullkrug. “It always feels like you go into a
game with a 1-0 lead. But we also suffered a lot today. They had phases where they put a lot of
pressure on us. That’s inevitable against such a top team. Now it’s half-time. We’re still 90 minutes
away from Wembley. But we remain humble.”
PSG defender Nuno Mendes is backing his team to turn the tie around in ‘The City of Lights’: “We
knew it was going to be a tough match. They’re playing at home with the backing of their crowd.
We tried all we could to win, but we didn’t succeed. Then we chased the game a little. We’ll give it
our all in the return leg.”
He added, “There’s 90 minutes left in the tie. We’ll focus on the next game, and do our best to
win. We’ve got maximum motivation and we’ll do all we can to win.”
On Wednesday evening, the focus turns to the Spanish capital city as Real Madrid welcome Bayern
Munich to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The teams played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Bavaria in the
first leg, leaving Los Blancos in a slightly favourable position.
“Now we head to the Bernabeu with the tie open and everything to play for, but we are in our
‘house’ now.
All of us wish the game was immediate – we can’t wait,” said Real attacker Rodrygo.
Bayern forward Harry Kane, meanwhile, is backing his team to get a positive result in Madrid:
“Everything we’re fighting for is in this competition. We’ve just got to find a way to get it done.
Real Madrid away is going to be tough but we’ve got to go there with full belief and go for the
win.”
