HARARE — Medical Investments Limited, trading as The Avenues Clinic, has announced the promotion of Sibusisiwe Ndhlovu to the position of Managing Director, effective 1 March 2026.
The appointment, confirmed by the Board in a statement released this week, recognises Ndhlovu’s outstanding leadership and the remarkable transformation she has overseen since joining the institution in March 2023 as General Manager.
A Track Record of Transformation
Since her arrival at The Avenues Clinic, Ndhlovu has led what the Board described as “a remarkable transformation of our institution,” overseeing significant renovations and upgrades while embodying the values that define the organisation.
Her leadership style—characterised by genuine care for patients and staff, a strong sense of stewardship, commitment to fostering happiness in the workplace, focus on productivity, encouragement of creativity, and an unwavering passion for excellence—has inspired staff and strengthened the clinic’s institutional culture.
“She has led setting up a reinsurance company in Botswana, licensing a general insurance company in Mauritius, setting up a medical insurance company and micro finance institutions locally,” the Board noted.
Three Decades of Executive Experience
Ndhlovu brings to the role a career spanning 30 years across diverse industries, with executive and transformation experience in banking, insurance, telecommunications, finance and audit, healthcare, M&A, and corporate finance.
She is a Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe), a Certified Project Management Professional, and ICHOM-certified in Value-Based Health Care.
Her experience includes leading start-ups, regional expansion initiatives, and major transformation projects across insurance, medical aid, and financial services, including M&A, loan restructuring, and business repositioning. In her career, she has led market growth in selected East Africa markets, SADC, and within Zimbabwe.
Building on a Legacy of Excellence
The promotion is a fitting recognition of Ndhlovu’s dedication and the lasting impact she continues to make across Medical Investments Limited and The Avenues Clinic.
The appointment comes at an exciting time for the clinic, which recently unveiled a newly upgraded Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), and Coronary Care Unit (CCU) as part of a US$4 million hospital-wide refurbishment programme.
The upgraded unit features advanced patient monitoring systems, integrated bedside medical gas and power outlets, moisture detection technology, and expanded dialysis capacity—all designed to enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of care for critically ill patients.
Speaking at the opening of the upgraded unit, Ndhlovu emphasised the clinic’s commitment to continuous improvement.
“Going forward, we’ll be introducing more of such improvements,” she said, adding that the upgrades also create a better working environment for the hospital’s dedicated nursing team.

As Managing Director, Ndhlovu is expected to continue driving the clinic’s growth, innovation, and success.
The Board expressed confidence in her leadership, stating: “We look forward to continued growth, innovation, and success under your leadership.”
The appointment of a woman to the top leadership position at one of Zimbabwe’s premier healthcare institutions also signals the growing role of women in shaping the country’s health sector.
