. . . NACZ expresses “absolute faith” in production team after stellar 24th edition

HARARE — Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution will return to produce the 25th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA), the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) has confirmed, expressing “absolute faith” in the team that delivered the 24th edition.
Announcing the decision at a press conference in Harare on Tuesday, the NACZ CEO Napoleon Nyanhi commended the production duo for their “top-notch” execution of the previous ceremony.
“We are delighted to confirm that the reins of production are in the capable hands of Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution,” he said. “We commend them for the sterling job they performed on the 24th edition.”
The 24th edition marked Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution’s first time steering the NAMA ship. According to Nyanhi, they delivered a show that matched the prestige of the awards.
“It was their first time steering the ship, and their execution was nothing short of top-notch. They delivered a show that matched the prestige of the awards,” Nyanhi said.
That performance has earned them the opportunity to produce the milestone Silver Jubilee edition in February 2027.
The “WOW” Factor
Nyanhi said the Council expects the production team to elevate the Silver Jubilee show, which will mark 25 years of NAMA.
“We have absolute faith in their ability to curate an experience that provides that ‘WOW’ effect every single time,” he said. “We look forward to seeing how they elevate the Silver Jubilee production.”
The 25th edition of NAMA is expected to be a landmark event on Zimbabwe’s cultural calendar, celebrating a quarter century of recognising excellence in the creative sector.
Scarlet Studios Managing Director Mr Reginald Matinanga and Events Evolution CEO and Director of Events Mr Talent Banda were present at the press conference, alongside NACZ Director Arts Development & Promotion Mrs Barbara Gotore and NACZ Director Business Development and Resource Mobilisations Ms Daisy Guvamombe.
Nyanhi’s confidence in the production team signals continuity and stability for Zimbabwe’s premier arts awards. With Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution at the helm, the Council is betting on a show that honours the past while setting the stage for the future.
As the submission window opens and anticipation builds for February 2027, all eyes will be on the production team to deliver a Silver Jubilee celebration worthy of NAMA’s 25-year legacy.
