Manicaland Province is preparing to take center stage as it readies itself to host the highly anticipated Sanganai/Hlanganani Kumbanayi Tourism Expo 2025—Zimbabwe’s premier international tourism showcase.
Scheduled for 10–12 September at Mutare Sports Club, the event is set to shine a global spotlight on the Eastern Highlands, celebrating the region’s breathtaking beauty, cultural vibrancy, and hospitality.
In a bid to build momentum for the Expo, Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, convened a high-level stakeholder meeting at Queen’s Hall in Mutare.
She was joined by Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Hon. Tongai Mnangagwa.
The leadership trio emphasized the vital role of collaboration in positioning Manicaland as a must-visit tourism destination.

Hon. Rwodzi urged local businesses to gear up for the influx of visitors—buyers, exhibitors, and tourism enthusiasts—by improving services and accommodation standards.
She encouraged innovation in hospitality, including the transformation of private homes into guest-friendly spaces, and reminded stakeholders of the importance of remitting the 2% tourism levy to support sustainable industry growth.
In preparation for the event, the Ministry is fast-tracking key infrastructure upgrades in Mutare. These enhancements include improvements to road networks, public amenities, Mutare Sports Club, and Grand Reef Aerodrome, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Eastern Highlands, with its rolling green hills, misty mountain ranges, and rich cultural heritage, Manicaland is ready to roll out the red carpet to the world.
The 2025 Expo promises not only to boost tourism but to cement the province’s status as one of Zimbabwe’s most captivating travel destinations.
Come and experience the magic of Manicaland—where culture, nature, and adventure converge!
