And now Everton Mlalazi has gone a gear up featuring the iconic group that built firm fanbase with its founding father Joseph Tshabalala.
Mlalazi’s track called Nomakunje is not just a beautiful track but a gem as it taps into the experience of Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Nomakunje is about going forward and resilience.
Known for its power harmonies and melodies, Ladysmith Black Mambazo gelled well with Mlalazi’s praise and worship vibe.
And if there is anything that music lovers will enjoy are the melodies on the song.
This is why at times good music isn’t hard to come by for as long as the melody is there you are assured of a sure-fire hit song.
And for Mlalazi he leaves nothing to chance or rather his penchant for perfecting his music is always a priority.
The release of Nomakunje on New Year really signals the beginning of Mlalazi’s journey into stardom.
Of course, he has a couple of hits but Nomakunje sets the bar high and will see fans from across borders rotating in his orbit.
If Mlalazi had been dreaming of breaking into southern Africa region then Nomakunje seems to be his ticket.
Like most of the Ladysmith Black Mambazo video this one is as simple as it gets.
Usually, it is about the music and less of visuals.
And the video shot on location to a packed South African concert is quite moving and engaging.
Donning a stylish safari suit Mlalazi leads a coterie of Ladysmith Black Mambazo members who also looked great in their matching outfits.
