Before he came up as a musician, Jonah Chivasa was a revered songwriter.
But after seeing that he could not survive on writing songs he took a shot at singing.
And that decision is evident throughout his compositions for believers and non-believers have given him kudos to his song writing skills and boy-oh-boy Jonah knows how to deliver.
This time he dropped a fresh new sound for his Fevha project on Afro-beats.
“The one thing I want to be remembered for is how versatile I am as a musician. Before I became a musician I was a songwriter and that is my strength and till now I write at least three songs per day,” he explained about his versatility and song writing skills.
“I can wake up tomorrow singing to a different tune and sound. That is just me. I am versatile and I do not want to keep doing the same thing over and over.”
On Fevha (pronounced as Favour) which is almost like his previous hit — Ndozvinoita Nyasha — the two songs almost feel the same but different themes. On the latest Jonah is talking about Favour while the previous number was about Grace.
“Grace is for everyone but favour is only for the chosen few. And when I look at what is happening in my personal life I see favour.,” he explained.
The new song dropped exactly a week after Jonah paid the bride price for his beau Rachel J also a musician.
“So the song reflects on my personal life and this can happen to other people,” he said.
To show his gratitude, Jonah features Rachel J in the video which again is of international standards.
“At first my wife didn’t want to feature in the video but I convinced her that it was best she co-directs as well as feature in it because she is not only scripted the video but also designed the outfits.
“Remember the Bible says he who finds a wife obtain favour from the Lord and the greatest impartation of favour is my wife. I really trusted her n this project and it came out perfect,” Jonah said.
The couple is seen loved up in the video which is nothing short of magic.
According to Jonah, fans should watch out for his upcoming international collaboration with one of South Arica’s biggest artist.
Already there are plans to widen the horizons of his career beyond Africa when he drops an amapiano track.
