Raffingora — A major development initiative is underway in Raffingora, where the local community, under the leadership of Chief Katizagombo, has commenced the construction of a modern post aimed at improving governance, public safety, and community services.
The project is being spearheaded by a partnership between Chief Katizagombo, Chairman Allen Masuku, and village heads, who are working in coordination to see the facility completed.

Honourable Marian Chombo, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution
The post will house offices, holding cells, and various service points to streamline local administration and policing.
Honourable Marian Chombo, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution and the area’s Member of Parliament, is actively supporting the project.
Her dual role has enabled the community to access critical support at both provincial and parliamentary levels.
Officer in Charge Season Chokera stressed the urgent need for the facility, citing an increase in local crime and inadequate infrastructure hampering law enforcement efforts.
“We are committed to completing this post as soon as possible,” Chokera said. “It is a much-needed resource for us to effectively manage public safety.”
Chairman Masuku is leading efforts to mobilize resources for the project. He noted that a vehicle is urgently needed to transport building materials and expedite construction.
Community leaders have also extended an open invitation to investors to contribute to the initiative.
“If there are any investors willing to come on board, we welcome your support,” said Chief Katizagombo. “This is a community-driven project, and partnerships are key to its success.”

Chief Superintendent Agnes Robert, Officer Commanding Makonde District, praised the development, aligning it with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 agenda, which promotes grassroots-led development.
She referenced the national theme, “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo”—“A nation is built by its own citizens”—highlighting the importance of local ownership in driving progress.
As the project nears completion, the mood in Raffingora is one of optimism. Residents anticipate that the new post will not only enhance security and service delivery but also foster further development opportunities.
