Harare– In a night filled with celebration and recognition, Padenga Agribusiness Pvt Ltd was honored with the prestigious ZNCC Mashonaland Region Agriculture Exporter of the Year 2025 Award at the Golden Conifer last Friday.
This accolade is not just a testament to the company’s achievements but also a reflection of its resilience in navigating the complexities of the global market.
Padenga Agribusiness, renowned for its premium quality crocodile skins, has become a key player in supplying luxury brands that craft exclusive products such as handbags, apparel, and belts.

Kundai Murau, who received the award on behalf of Padenga, expressed heartfelt gratitude towards stakeholders and regulators.

The award comes at a significant time for Padenga, following the impressive annual results released by its parent company, Padenga Holdings, in March 2025.
The Group reported a staggering revenue of US $223 million for the financial year ending 2024, marking a remarkable 43% increase from the previous year’s US $155 million.
Padenga Agribusiness played a vital role in this success, contributing 14% to the Group’s turnover with revenue from the crocodile business reaching US $30.43 million.
This figure represents a 29% increase compared to the previous year, driven largely by a 69% rise in the average price per skin, despite a 40% decrease in sales volumes.
The company’s commitment to cost containment saw total operating costs decrease by 10%, showcasing its strategic approach to managing market fluctuations.
Chris Mugaga, CEO of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), praised Padenga’s ability to adapt and thrive amidst economic challenges.
“Padenga exemplifies a defensive stock, thriving amid uncertainty by expanding into new markets and even venturing into mining,” he stated.
“Their success underscores the potential for Zimbabwean firms to excel in challenging environments.”
