Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, Group Chief Executive Officer of NetOne, was inducted into the 2026 Business Hall of Fame on Thursday evening — securing one of Zimbabwe’s most prestigious corporate honours for his steady leadership and transformative impact on the telecommunications sector.

The ceremony, hosted by The Champions Africa, gathered the nation’s top business figures to celebrate excellence across large corporates and small-to-medium enterprises. Inductees were chosen for outstanding management, innovation, and measurable growth.

For Eng Mushanawani, the honour comes as NetOne navigates an increasingly competitive and fast-moving digital landscape.

But in true leader fashion, he didn’t take the spotlight alone.

“It would not have been possible were it not for the team that I work with,” he said. “It is a diversified team, but what keeps us together is the spirit of success. I’m grateful for the support that they have given to me.”

Those words reflect a leader who has made team culture the heartbeat of NetOne‘s turnaround — steering the state-owned operator through intense competition and digital transformation while expanding network reach, improving service quality, and broadening digital products for millions of Zimbabweans.

Beyond NetOne, Eng Mushanawani also serves on the board of Zimpapers, Zimbabwe’s largest media group, underscoring his broad influence across the business landscape.

He now stands among an elite class. The Business Hall of Fame Class of 2026 spans finance, biotech, retail, energy, and manufacturing — including Dr Shepherd Fungura (ZB Holdings), Mr Luxon Zembe (CBZ Holdings), Dr Dexter Savadye (National Biotechnology Authority), Mr Justin Machibaya (Homelux Group), Mr Glen Peters (KDV Bedding), Mr Wilfred Matukeni (NOIC), and Mr Moses Kurenjekwa (Ecobank Zimbabwe).

The evening also celebrated rising stars under the Young Champions Awards category. Honorees included Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association president Mr Tinashe Manzungu, Mr Aaron Kumanja of Realtor Ville Group, and Ms Nennice Chinhara of Glow Petroleum — proof that Zimbabwe’s business pipeline is strong across construction, real estate, and energy.
