Admore Mbonda in Kariba
Kariba– Ministry of Health and Child Care has generously donated 27 tablets to Nyamhunga and Mahombekombe clinics.
This initiative is set to improve patient data capturing and record management, marking a pivotal step toward more efficient service delivery in the region.
Kariba Mayor Nyasha Ralph Maoneyi , confirmed the donation, stating, “We are grateful for this generous support. The introduction of these tablets will streamline our operations and allow our healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care rather than administrative tasks.”
Training sessions have already been held to equip healthcare officials with the necessary skills to effectively use the new tablets.
Maoneyi emphasized the benefits of this technology, noting, “With the tablets, we anticipate a significant reduction in waiting times at our clinics, allowing for quicker entries of patient data, including diagnoses and treatment details.”
Residents have welcomed this initiative with open arms. Local community member, Hazvinei Muparaganda, expressed her excitement:
“This is wonderful news! As someone who visits Nyamhunga Clinic regularly, I often face long waits. The tablets will definitely help speed things up and improve our experience.”
Another resident, Tendai Manduwi, added, “We appreciate the efforts of the municipality and the Ministry of Health. This donation shows a commitment to improving healthcare in our community. I hope it will also attract more healthcare professionals to our clinics.”
However, challenges remain, particularly with staffing. Nyamhunga clinic, one of the busiest healthcare facilities in Kariba, is currently dealing with a shortage of medical staff.
The municipality has been advertising nursing positions at both Nyamhunga and Mahombekombe clinics, but many candidates have declined the offers, citing concerns over low salaries and delayed payments.
Reports indicate that municipal staff have occasionally gone months without receiving their salaries, raising questions about job security.
Maoneyi acknowledged these issues, stating, “We understand the challenges related to staff remuneration and are actively working to find solutions. Our priority is to ensure that our clinics are well-staffed and that our healthcare professionals are compensated fairly for their hard work.”
As the municipality navigates these challenges, both officials and residents remain hopeful that the combination of new technology and improved staffing conditions will lead to a more efficient and effective healthcare system in Kariba.
In conclusion, the donation of tablets is a vital step towards modernizing healthcare delivery, and the community looks forward to the positive changes that lie ahead.
