Mukudzei Chitsama, popularly known as Holy Ten, was arrested this week over allegations of raping an 14-year-old woman in Harare’s Hatfield suburb.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the musician’s arrest in connection with an alleged rape that reportedly occurred on July 20, 2026.
It is alleged that at around 3pm on Monday, the complainant phoned Chitsama to inform him that she was on her way to a recording studio in Avondale. She was accompanied by a friend and waited while the artist finished recording.
At around 6pm, after her friend had left, the complainant and Chitsama allegedly went to his residence in Hatfield, where they were reportedly supposed to record videos.
Police allege that once inside the house, Chitsama took the complainant into his bedroom, locked the door from the inside, threatened to kill her if she did not comply with his demands, and raped her. Other people were reportedly in another room at the time.
After the alleged incident, Chitsama is said to have hired a taxi to take the complainant home. Upon arriving home, she reported the matter to her aunt, who alerted the police, leading to the musician’s arrest.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of a local musician (27) on allegations of rape involving an 14-year-old complainant in the Hatfield area of Harare on July 20, 2026,” Commissioner Nyathi said.
