ZANU PF Central Committee member Kuda Tagwirei has donated ZWL$200,000 in a significant show of support for community development in Banket, with Banket Hospital and Kuwadzana Primary School among the key beneficiaries.
Speaking at the recent Mashonaland West Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting, Tagwirei described the donation as a “small gesture” aimed at fostering development in Mashonaland West—particularly in Banket, the area where he said his journey began.
The business tycoon also delivered a keynote address on land tenure, highlighting it as a critical factor influencing agricultural productivity, community empowerment, and economic growth in the province.
He underscored the need for clarity and security in land ownership to unlock investment and strengthen food security.
“Land is a vital resource, and securing tenure is key to unlocking investments, improving productivity, and ensuring communities benefit fully from their land,” Tagwirei said.
He urged the government to streamline processes governing land allocation and ownership, address disputes, and strengthen support mechanisms for beneficiaries of land redistribution.
These measures, he noted, would align with the national vision of equitable and sustainable land use.
Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Marrian Chombo, applauded Tagwirei’s contribution. She was joined by Hon. Ziyambi Ziyambi, Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs; Cde Webster Shamu, ZANU PF National Deputy Political Commissar; and other PCC members in commending the donation.
“This act of support will uplift our communities and inspire others to join the cause. Land tenure security is a pathway to prosperity for our people, and we commit to working tirelessly to resolve related challenges,” said Minister Chombo.
The PCC meeting also reaffirmed the province’s commitment to implementing Congress resolutions, with a focus on economic empowerment, healthcare, education, and addressing land challenges.
Leaders emphasized the need for greater community involvement in land management and in leveraging land as a key asset for inclusive growth.
The event underscored Mashonaland West’s determination to drive progress through unity, development, and community-focused initiatives.
