The much-anticipated 6th Birthday Celebrations for ZBC Classic263 came into life at Shumba Restaurant in Newlands, Harare, on Friday evening, the 28th day of June, 2024, following the Station’s rebranding from SFM 6 years ago.
Classic is how one may describe the elegant night which saw some ZBC top management personnel gracing the colourful occasion fused with the Station’s loyal listeners who found joy through interacting, drinking, eating and dancing together with their Producer/Presenters.

Station Manager, Mr Terrence Mapurisana, expressed his delight in seeing the listeners and the Producer/Presenters finding such rare time to make merry as one big family, all in the name of Classic263.
Radio Services Director Mr Albert Chekayi could not hide his joy on the day, with him putting more emphasis on togetherness through hosting such gatherings time and again, thereby cementing the relationship between the listeners and their so much-loved radio station of choice.
Who said Producer/Presenters are not good dancers? The celebratory evening saw some new dancing antics emerging from a numerous number of these Presenters away from the studio microphone.
Elsewhere, from the listeners end, the Station’s self-styled “Yondo Sister” Lilian Kusikwenyu could not be out done on the dance floor and left the crowd in jubilation due to her Rhumba dancing prowess. So was Jules and her smoove dances.
Host Venue owner, Mr Shumba, was on cloud nine after Classic263 Radio’s 6th Birthday Party ironically coincided with the Venue’s Official Opening.
Seasoned Radio Broadcaster, Witness “Chuman” Matema, later took over the decks deep in the night and took the excited crowd back memory lane with some Old Skool tunes from the days gone by.
A 6th Birthday Celebration which indeed lived to its billing with everyone enjoying a slice of the day’s cake!
