Chinese Proprietor Rose Huang of the famous Shangri-la and Zimbabwean Millionaire Philip Chiyangwa’s Enterprise Office have applauded Government for its cooperation in availing investment opportunities.
Speaking at the official opening of the Sunday Crew Casino at their complex that constitutes a 16 bed hotel, shopping complex constituting of a supermarket, boutique stores and the nationally famous Shangri-la Chinese Restaurant Rose Huang, chairperson of Sunday Crew Casino appreciated Government efforts in collaborating with investors.
“Today is our celebration day. With the joint efforts of all parties involved, Sunday crew Casino has finally officially opened. From the beginning of this project, it has received a lot of support and assistance from the Minister, the leaders of relevant local authorities and the Chinese community in Zimbabwe.” Rose Huang said.
The project was resilient to the drawbacks by the global pandemic as, “From the beginning of the decision-making to invest in Zimbabwe, to opening today, we overcame a lot of challenges especially the impact of Covid-19 pandemic and completed the construction of the project in a short period of time.” Mrs Huang also said.
The proprietor commended government for its intention to reform as potentially best setting achievement of Vision 2030 and calls for the entertainment industry to be considered a major contributor to GDP.
“At the moment, under the leadership of the President of Zimbabwe, HE Cde E.D Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe is comprehensively advancing economic reforms, advancing the implementation of the first five-year plan, and striving to become a middle-income country by 2030. The entertainment industry not only brings happiness and joy to the people, but also plays an important role in promoting employment and increasing fiscal revenue.”
The proprietor commended the hospitality of the people of Zimbabwe and government that urged the project to be completed in a short time period.
“During the construction of the casino, we received a lot of support from the government and people of Zimbabwe, which made us feel the profound friendship between the people of China and Zimbabwe. In the short period of time in Zimbabwe, we have fully felt the government’s desire for investment and the people’s desire for economic development.” Mrs Huang also said.
The proprietor committed to continually foster for investment and prosperity between the two countries while commending government and it’s leader for their efforts.
“The Chinese publicize Zimbabwe and encourage everyone to invest in Zimbabwe. We are convinced that under the leadership of H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the joint efforts of the people of Zimbabwe, this country will have a better future. The Chinese people will work hard with the people of Zimbabwe to build a prosperous and strong Zimbabwe.” The Sunday Crew Casino also said.
Government also commended the Chinese for discontinuing the fake rhetoric that Zimbabwe is not a safe destination as potentially availing more foreign direct investment and economic growth for Zimbabwe.
“You have shown the world that Zimbabwe is a safe investment destination. This is what we have always told the world that Zimbabwe is a very safe destination.” The Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Mavhungu Maboyi said at the launch.
With Casino business constituting a significant proportion of money laundering, government called for the proprietor to institute the highest level of integrity to evade the wrath of the law.
“As you operate Sunday Crew, it is our fervent hope that you will always be guided by our various regulatory provisions and that you respect the sanctity of the license issued in your favor.” Honourable Deputy Minister Mavhungu Maboyi said.
The project is expected to employ a total of 200 local people and seen the whole complex’s value at three million American dollars.
