Kariba was anything but serene on Wednesday night as hip-hop sensation Holy Ten faced the wrath of his own fans during a dramatic performance gone awry at Lake Harvest Sports Club.
The artist’s night ended abruptly, not with applause, but with beer bottles flying through the air and an adrenaline-fueled escape from the stage.
Eyewitnesses described the chaotic scene as fans, frustrated by a lackluster show, hurled their dissatisfaction—along with cans and bottles—forcing the performer to leap from the two-meter-high stage and flee into the Kariba night.
The night’s troubles reportedly stemmed from Holy Ten arriving late to the venue, long after the scheduled midnight start time.
Fans, already agitated by the delay, grew even more irate when the public address system failed, rendering the artist’s vocals nearly inaudible. For the audience, this was the final straw in a night of disappointment.
A Gemination reporter at the event captured the drama as it unfolded, noting that Holy Ten’s getaway vehicle wasn’t spared from the fury of the crowd, who pelted it with objects in their frustration.
Attempts to calm the audience failed, and the police resorted to firing warning shots to disperse the agitated fans.
Adding to the bizarre turn of events, reports surfaced that Holy Ten fled into the darkness, aware of the recent lion sightings in the area. “It was like a scene from an action movie,” one fan quipped.
Blame for the fiasco was swiftly leveled at the Lake Harvest management, with attendees citing poor organization and a history of botched events.
“This is becoming a pattern,” a disgruntled fan remarked. “They need to step up their game.”
An insider at Lake Harvest revealed that despite being paid in full, Holy Ten’s tardiness soured the mood. While the artist promised a free future show as an apology, fans remain skeptical.
