Buyers trickle in for Sanganai/Hlanganani – World Tourism

Some regional and international buyers from source markets have started arriving in Zimbabwe in time for the  Sanganai/Hlanganani World Expo.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Head Corporate Affairs Godfrey ‘Chief’ Koti confirmed they were already receiving buyers for pre-tours.

“It is just nine days to go to Sanganai/Hlanganani World Expo and we have started welcoming regional & international buyers to Zimbabwe!

“The Buyers will undertake pre-tours to tourist destinations across the country ahead of expo,” Koti said.

The ZTA is targeting at least 250 buyers for this year’s edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani — World Tourism Expo.

Sanganai/Hlanganani is scheduled to be held at Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo, from 13 – 15 October 2022.

Buyers have been drawn from key source markets which include Germany, United Kingdom, America, South Africa, Botswana, Australia, India and many others.

Pre and post tours have been put in place which will see buyers visiting most key destinations which include Matobos, Hwange, Victoria Falls, Mana Pools, Kariba, Eastern Highlands, Masvingo, Gonarezhou and many others

The premium tourism showcase returns for the physical edition after a two-year lapse which was caused by Covid-19.

So far over 150 exhibitors had registered to participate at Sanganai/Hlanganani including participation from the following countries; Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana and Malawi.

According to ZTA Chief Executive, Ms Winnie Muchanyuka, Sanganai/Hlanganani – World Tourism Expo reignited growth of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) sector and positively impacting on domestic tourism,

“The industry both supply and demand side are eagerly waiting to reconnect, hence we are excited to be staging the physical edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani,” she said.

In support of devolution, she said, we would make sure that every province is fully represented as we ensure that all our known and hidden gems get to be profiled during the 2022 edition.

“We also look forward to having an elaborate Community Based Tourism showcase,” Muchanyuka said.
