Former Power FM radio presenter — Bridget Gavanga — is set to join Capitalk 100.4 FM roster when she presents the Year Ender aptly dubbed “The 6 On 6 old Skool Reunion Party” scheduled for December 31, 2020.
The United Kingdom sultry presenter will once again grace Zimbabwean airwaves, thanks to technology, from overseas for not to be missed gig.
Bubz or Bubbles as she is affectionately known on radio will be among the six foundation old DJs on rotation jamming for 6 hours starting from 6pm till midnight non-stop cranking on Capitalk 100.4 FM dial.
Other DJs lined up are Tony Ndoro aka Tony D live from Johannesburg and standing by live in the Capitalk 100.4 FM studio are Sophie Chamboko, Darlington Masenda and Tendai The Sweet Thang Chakanyuka and last but not least will be Otis The Flow Fraser live from Gaborone.
The line-up will take you through different time zones and area codes but the one good thing is that the DJs will be keeping it coming throwing down some serious yesteryear bangers just the way music lovers enjoy it.
All 6 DJs have more than 60 years of experience between them and have made names for themselves since the days of Radio 3.
Like previous edition, this year’s edition will for the first time live on radio and not physically in Harare where old skool pundits came together to celebrate the New Year in music and dance.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, organisers Zimpapers Radio, have seen it fit to bring the showcase live on air to rekindle yester year memories.
The Old Skool Reunion Party brings memories when some of the best voices emerged on Zimbabwean radio and you can expect a wide spectrum of musical experiences.
Even the women DJs are well represented by the likes of Sophie who remembers her sultriness or Bubblez, the energy and command she exuded on radio? Who would forget The Sweet Thang’s awesome and bougie kind of vibe on radio. Man oh man, this got to be the must listen to show on radio when Tony D, Darlington and The Flow takes listeners back to the old skool!
