Harare businesswoman Alessandra Chacha or simply Bree is set to launch her own range of organic skincare products called Balt.
The launch is set for December 14 and customers are able to place orders online and get deliveries on their doorstep.
In an interview, the 27-year-old was happy to be launching her products describing it as a dream come true.
“It feels great and am so grateful for this moment given that I used to dream of owning a skincare company when I was just 12-years-old and did not know back then how I would achieve this,” Bree said.
“Furthermore, given that my line constitutes organic, natural ingredients healthy and safe for all ages or genders or races e.g honey, oatmeal, lavender, mint, sandalwood, chamomile etc, I feel that I am playing my part in bringing safe, natural solutions to everyone worldwide. My packaging is recyclable thus being environmentally friendly as well.”
Bree, who is one of the first transgender women to publicly transition in Zimbabwe, believes her gender identity and expression did not in any way hinder her goals in business.
While she is still transitioning, Bree is looking forward to womanhood.
“This just goes to show that trans and intersex people are human too. Look at me, I am a member of the trans and intersex group TransSmart and I am the CEO of a company which thinks of what customers need whilst being responsive to saving the environment as well,” she said.
The products launching are: BALT organic skincare, Hand lotion (orange and sandalwood), Body lotion (Lavender, mint, chamomile), Body Wash (Lavender, mint, chamomile), Moisturizing soap (honey and oatmeal)
