Manica Diamonds have strengthened their leadership structures with the appointment of experienced professionals and business leaders to the club’s board as they continue preparations for this weekend’s Premier Soccer League clash against FC Platinum.
Among the new appointments is businessman Justice Matsatsira, Managing Director of The Business Diary, who is expected to contribute to strategic development and commercial expansion.
He brings experience from several sectors, including delivery and courier services, construction and other business ventures, with club officials confident his corporate background and business networks will help strengthen partnerships and create new opportunities.
Club Chairman Tinashe Chipunza said the changes are intended to enhance governance and support the club’s long-term ambitions both on and off the field.
“We want quality standards throughout the entire organisation — from the boardroom, to management, to the technical team and the players.
Strong governance and strong leadership are critical if we are to achieve our objectives and build a club that can compete consistently while remaining sustainable.”
Vice Chairman Letmore Mbidzo has also been involved in the process as the club reinforces its leadership structures.
Alongside the boardroom changes, Manica Diamonds are focused on maintaining momentum in the league and will host FC Platinum at Sakubva Stadium this weekend.
The match presents an important test for the Mutare-based side as they seek valuable points against one of the league’s established teams.
The team has shown encouraging form in recent weeks, collecting valuable points and securing an away victory over TelOne to boost its position in the standings.
Chipunza said the club’s vision extends beyond match-day results, with continued efforts to strengthen the squad and build a professionally run institution.
“Manica Diamonds is the pride of Manicaland Province. The club represents the aspirations of thousands of people across the province and we have a responsibility to ensure that it competes at the highest level,” said Chipunza.
“Our immediate focus is to continue improving our performances and positioning ourselves strongly for the remainder of the season. We want to make sure we maximise our potential and finish the campaign as strongly as possible.”
Chipunza said the club is also preparing for the transfer window to address areas requiring reinforcement.
“We are assessing areas where the team can be improved and we intend to use the transfer window strategically. The goal is to build a competitive squad capable of consistently challenging and improving year after year.”
As Manica Diamonds prepare for FC Platinum, the focus remains on securing a positive result while laying the groundwork for sustained success in the seasons ahead.
