One of the country’s best Reggae Producer and Presenter Terrence Mapurisana, who is best known in the Reggae Circles as The Hotstepper or the Radio Commissioner General will be hosting one of Jamaica’s biggest reggae artist, Grammy nominated reggae musician Freddie McGregor OD, a man whose big hits “Push Comes to Shove” and “Big Ship”.
These two songs were introduced into Zimbabwe by the late Reggae DJ Dennis Wilson. McGregor will be on Classic263 FM on Sunday from 12 noon.
Di Captain as he is affectionately called by Reggae fans, recently received yet another accolade when he was formally recognized by the city of Hartford in Connecticut as Freddie McGregor Day.
Speaking from his base in Jamaica, McGregor said: “I’m super excited to be interviewed by The Reggae General Terrence Mapurisana on Classic263 this coming Sunday in Zimbabwe. You know how much I love Zimbabwe, its my second home. I also have a message for the youths and I will be talking about my new musical project as well.”
More than a dozen reggae artists and producers from all over the world and especially those from Jamaica have featured on Mapurisana’s Reggae Talk program.
These include the legendary Don Carlos, Macka B, Kenyatta Hill (son to Joseph Hill), Kevin Isaacs (son to Gregory Isaacs), Young Garvey, Mad Professor, King Isaac, Herman Chimusoro, Geo Carlos, Leroy Sibbles, and June Isaacs (widow of Gregory Isaacs.
