Musician Poptain has returned with yet another video titled Sunda which means to push.
However, the video is perhaps one of the first ones to feature the Mbuya Nehanda statue right at the intersection of Samora Machel Avenue and Julius Nyerere.
There has been so much hullabaloo around the statue and perhaps Poptain wants to ride on the popularity wave of Mbuya Nehanda.
That said, in the video there is a young dancer who is a marvel to watch.
The girl is just good at what she does and no wonder she had made headlines so far with radio stations quick to interview her.
You should see how she does Poptain signature dance where she “pushes” her naval part frontwards while swinging her hands like she is scooping water out of a bucket.
There is a lot of dancing and dancers in the video too. We see a group of youngsters in Harare’s CBD or somewhere at the Harare Gardens taking turns to twerk and wiggle.
While there is plenty of dancing going on, Poptain again laces his vocals on a laid back beat. He is talking about never giving up.
The song talks of hope and encourages people to keep going on no matter how bad things or life general get.
It is really a positive song that comes at a time when most Zimbabweans are going through hardships in life. There was great expectation that at least life would be smoother but sadly with the Covid-19, life hasn’t been easy for most people and this is why the song is important.
It acts as an encouraged to the tired, weary and hapless.
And of course, Sunda comes in the backdrop of yet another great love song simply titled Before by Poptain.
Poptain is really showing consistently and taking himself seriously just like any hard working artist would do.
