Bosnia & Herzegovina – Group H
Bosnia and Herzegovina have made a strong start in UEFA Group H of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Under the guidance of new head coach Sergej Barbarez, the team secured two victories in their opening matches: 1–0 against Romania on March 21, followed up with a 2–1 triumph over Cyprus three days later. These results have propelled Bosnia and Herzegovina to the top of the group standings with six points from two matches, ahead of Romania and Cyprus, ans they seek a first-ever trip to the global showpiece.
Poland – Group G
Poland has kicked off their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in Group G with a bang! Under the guidance of head coach Fernando Santos, the Polish national team secured two commanding victories in March over Lithuania (1–0, thanks to a late goal from captain Robert Lewandowski) and Malta (2–0, with Karol Świderski scoring both goals).
These impressive performances have propelled Poland to the top of Group G standings, though the heavyweights of the group, the Netherlands, will get their campaign going this month.
Norway – Group I
Norway has ignited their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in Group I with electrifying
performances that have fans buzzing! In their opening match against Moldova in March, Norway delivered a resounding 5–0 victory, showcasing their attacking prowess and solidifying their intent to dominate the group. Just days later, they faced Israel in a thrilling encounter, emerging victorious with a 4–2 win. Goals from David Møller Wølf, Alexander Sørloth, Kristoffer Ajer, and (of course!)
Erling Haaland propelled Norway to the top of the group standings with six points from two matches, boasting a remarkable goal difference of +7.
With Italy yet to commence their qualifying campaign, Norway’s strong start has positioned them as early frontrunners.
North Macedonia – Group J
With a solid start and a well-balanced squad, North Macedonia is poised to challenge for a top-two finish in Group J. In their opening match against Liechtenstein in March, the Lions secured a decisive 3–0 victory, with goals from Aleksandar Trajkovski, Visar Musliu, and Bojan Miovski. Just days later, they faced Wales in a thrilling encounter at the Toshe Proeski Arena in Skopje.
Bojan Miovski opened the scoring in the 91st minute, but David Brooks equalised for Wales in the dying moments of stoppage time, resulting in a 1–1 draw.
Group heavyweights Belgium are yet to get going, but it’s a highly-promising start for the team in red and gold.
