The National Gallery of Zimbabwe has pushed back the opening of Southern African Art exhibition to a later date.
The exhibition was scheduled to on 18 August at the National Gallery and a new date will be announced soon.
“The National Gallery of Zimbabwe serves to inform you that the official opening of Southern African Art has been postponed to a later date. We will advise you as to new developments as time progresses,” a statement reads.
The Southern African Art; is an exhibition of Fine Artworks and objects of ethnographical relevance, from the Permanent Collection of the National Gallery.
The exhibition is a Cultural panorama of the Southern Africa region, and encapsulates the creativity of the bloc over the centuries.
The exhibition was supposed to coincide with the 44th Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads State and Government, and was conceived to cogitate on the theme “Promoting Innovation to unlock opportunities for sustained economic growth and development towards an Industrialised SADC”.
Zimbabwe successfully hosted the 44th Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads State and Government where among the highlights was President Mnangagwa’s assumed the role of chairmanship of the regional bloc.
