NAMAs Diaspora performing line up announced!

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation have announced another set of artists to make an appearance and perform at the forthcoming National Arts Merit Awards #NAMAlegends on March 27, 2021.

Dubbed ‘Big Diaspora Collaboration’ the gig will see 7 Artists in different countries of the world coming together on one track.

The artist are Bekezela (SA), Brian Nhira (USA), Cindy Munyavi (USA), Sani Makhalima (Australia), Tina Masawi (Spain), Vimbai Zimuto (Netherlands) and Vusa Mkhaya (Austria).

Legendary singer/songwriter Busi Ncube is set to perform at this year’s National Arts Merit Awards scheduled for March 27, 2021.

Busi, a founding member of the super group Ilanga will hit the stage showcasing her very best in music and dance.

The ‘True Love’ singer will delight online audiences with her magical voice that rocked the airwaves back in the 1990s when she fronted Ilanga the group that had the talents of Don Gumbo, Andy Brown and great producer Keith Farqharson.  

 The NAMAs are put together by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation.

Dubbed the #NAMAlegends, the special edition will be celebrating and honouring 40 Legends that have made us laugh, cry and love since 1980. It’s an art-filled 40th anniversary celebration for Zimbabwe, while we commemorate 35 years of the existence of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe.

This extravaganza will be live on ZBC TV, ZTN Facebook page, and NAMAtv Youtube Page for the whole world to witness the brilliance of Zimbabwean artistry with more platforms to be announced soon.

Speaking on behalf of the event organisers, Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation, Tinashe Kitchen said: “Our aim with this performance is to celebrate our artists who are waving the Zimbabwean flag high all over the world. Just like the legends we honour this year, they continue to inspire and make us proud to be Zimbabwean through their art and majesty.”

We have exported a lot of brilliant talent as a nation and at NAMA we will celebrate with some of our best musical exports,” said Napoleon Nyanhi, NAMA Executive Director and producer.
