The Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe, GMAZ has donated grain products to the ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province ahead of the ZANU PF annual people’s Conference to be held later this month.
The donation of 15000kgs of Maize Meal, 3000kgs of Rice and 4000 loaves of bread will stand central in availing the much needed food during the annual Zanu PF Congress.
The donation by GMAZ comes at a time the country’s ruling party is planning for the annual people’s Conference with the steering committee asserting it’s preparedness to host the event.
“We are happy to ascertain that all logistics for the Congress are in place as the steering committee led by Dr Dokora has just told me that all the required logistics are in place and we are ready to host the Congress.” Mashonaland Central Provincial Chairperson, Kazembe Kazembe said at the handover.
GMAZ emphasised commitment in supporting Government projects as they were witness of Government’s commitment to facilitate the success of local industry.
“We are evidence of Government’s commitment to see the establishment of the local industry through the support we have realised through the Winter farming season implements, land reform and other vast projects that government uses to support farmers and Millers who are the focal point of GMAZ.” GMAZ chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara said.
The donation of the grain products will meet the starch requirements for the Congress, while asserting the global practice of corporate support for Government programs.
“The program is testament of the global standard of parties receiving support from Corporates. The Republicans and Democrats receive Corporate support in America and we witness the same here today.”Musarara also said.
This year’s Conference will be attended by only 250 people against the usual 6000 with only some of the presidium and national executive in attendance, with Provincial centers catering for virtually attending members owing to Covid.
