Zimbabwe’s foremost turntablist and Gabs FM presenter — Otis Fraser — has joined the ranks of other world renowned DJs after launching his own download page called Flowtyme Radio (Feel the Flow).
The Flowtyme Radio page can be accessed on www.flowtymeinc.com and all you need is press and play for 24 hours non-stop remixes and refixes.
Why hire a DJ when you can simply press and play all the mixes you want from the playlists which are expertly selected from Option One — Mega Mixes which are one hour long playlists or Option Two The Flow Refixes, which are single tracks downloads.
What’s more you can choose which mix best suits you although The Flow makes it easy to play music back-to-back because of his seamless mixes from one song to the next.
“Basically, what it is, is sort of a platform whereby I will be uploading my mixes, continuous mixes, mega mixes approximately one hour long, so you know people can download those for whatever the occasion maybe parties or long drives.
“It’s gonna be various mixes. It’s gonna be all genres but it will be predominantly R’n’B and Soul and here there we will throw in mid tempo, the hip hop and some soulful house, some stuff like but that that’s the mega mixes.
“But then there will be my remixes which I call the Flow Refixes which will also be available for download. These will be single tracks so they won’t be like continuous mixes.
“So they will be just one song, one song, so you can download whichever you want so I have a whole whatever Zzim dancehall vs hip-hop. I’ve got the American/British R’n’B vs SA house/kwaito/amapiano and what, what. Dancehall it’s everything that’s all the remixes that come to my mind.
“So that the side of downloads alright, so you have option to download mega mixes and option to download the one track remixes separate tracks. Then I’ve also got playlists now for listening the one side is for downloads and then the one side the whole page is for listening.
“It’s more like playlists but it’s called Flowtyme Radio so no DJs, no presenters it’s just music 24 hours and it’s my playlists that I’ve selected personally. These are mostly R’n’B and Soul for now, the initial stage, but as we go will be playing it by the ear as to what people (you know) would like to hear on the playlist so obviously hip hop but radio friendly hip-hop.
“I’m not going this hardcore stuff cuz I believe radio is supposed to be (you know) a platform for listening you know within some part of the week and then obviously weekends we turn it up.
“So that’s just me you know, I feel you know, radio has lost that listener feel to it because remember lot of people are in the offices and we still wanna have that feeling to be listening to good stuff. “So yeah I will have a lot of radio friendly stuff not meaning friendly in terms of the cursing, the swearing stuff but just the feel of the sound although I am trying to go clean as possible but just the feeling, the radio kind of feel of music hence the name Flowtyme Radio for the listening. So that’s what’s going down man,” The Flow explained.
