Its Medic Express, the brainchild of Cimas, which has eased the refill burden for its repeat treatment clients. Mark Mutinhima is one happy Cimas client who lives in Westgate, 16km from the capital city of Zimbabwe, Harare. Mutinhima speaks of his experience of this convenient care.
“I used to go back to the pharmacy in Milton Park for my treatment refills. I no longer take the taxing trip. Cimas now delivers all my drugs at no extra cost,” said the stable client on hypertension medication for nearly a decade now.
He further said at times, he spent an hour or more as there were many people waiting to be served at the pharmacy.
“We used the same pharmacy the ill and refills. Visualise someone coming out from the door’s room, very ill, also visualise a healthy refill client, all sitting in the same queue waiting to be served in the same pharmacy. While it was not fair on those ill to face delays, it was also time wasting for us chronic and stable clients. I am happy that I now get my treatment in the comfort of my home, thanks to the riders for health. The rider in our area is the same jovial guy and we now know him by name. Its always good to ask him how he is doing at home and work. He looks good and happy. By bringing us our drugs at home, Cimas has brought treatment and convenience to our doorsteps,” said Mutinhima.
Mutinhima said he is now living a healthy life.
“Besides the medication I take, my doctors at Cimas have interest in my diet and lifestyle. They say for most of their patients on hypertension medicines, its stems from diet, lack of exercises and that these can be adjusted. So I walk 7km everyday. I now grow all my vegetables; I have cut on red meat and alcohol. I am seeing an improvement because my blood pressure no longer spikes,” said Mutinhima.
Mutinhima said the Medic Express rider, Tariro Gede, hoots at the gate and always greets his clients with a smile, his usual greeting goes:
“Good morning, my name is Tariro Gede from Cimas. I have brought your medical refills,” says the jovial Gede.
He then asks the client to check the contents before asking for the recipient’s signature on his delivery form.
Pleasantries are exchanged with the busy rider for good health outcomes saying his good byes.
