Kadoma — Furayi Village came alive as Ngezi Valley Seeds was recently recognized one of its own — awarding a motorcycle to Lydia Furayi, an outstanding local farmer who showcased the company’s products at the Mashonaland West Provincial Show in Chinhoyi.
The handover ceremony drew more than 60 farmers, community leaders, and district extension officers, serving as a strong show of support for farmers in the region.
Ngezi Valley Seeds used the occasion not only to honor Furayi’s achievements but also to reinforce its commitment to empowering rural communities through agriculture.
Sales representative Billijon Matongo led the event, using the platform to promote the company’s products and strengthen relationships with local farmers.
The gesture, he noted, was about more than recognition — it was about inspiring a broader culture of excellence.
“This motorcycle represents our belief in hard work and innovation in farming,” Matongo said. “We want farmers to know we’re with them every step of the way.”
Farmers in attendance expressed appreciation for the support, saying the recognition motivated them to improve productivity and embrace new technologies.
The event also underscored the strong collaboration between Ngezi Valley Seeds, extension officers, and Afmgritex officials — a partnership credited with boosting agricultural development in the area.
As planting season approaches, the farming community moves forward with renewed optimism, encouraged by the backing of one of the region’s leading seed companies.
