FORMER Zimbabwe Tourism Authority chief executive Karikoga Kaseke who suffered a stroke in 2018 has died at age 62.
Kaseke’s health deteriorated Tuesday at Milton Park Hospital where he was being hospitalized.
He was known for being the driving force behind Zimbabwe’s tourism and he took the hospitality industry to greater heights while also pushing for destination Zimbabwe at the world stage.
He was the first to introduce the now defunct Harare International Carnival and also Sangani Hlanganai World Tourism Expo which is traditionally heldin Bulawayo.
Prior to his appointment at ZTA Kaseke was the chief executive of Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe.
Kaseke was a retired Colonel of the Zimbabwe National Army.
He was born in Harare in 1962 being the first born in a family of eight children. He grew up in rural Mhondoro where he did his primary education and partly secondary education before joining the liberation struggle.
He is survived by his wife and several children.
