ChillSpot hypeman DJ Fantan and producer Levels have teased their upcoming Sasai riddim saying it is going to shut down the music scene.
In a video posted on their official YouTube channel, DJ Fantan whose real name is Arnold Kamudyariwa and Levels introduce the riddim while Zim dancehall star Jah Master waxes lyrical.
It appears Jah Master will be one of the featured artists on the Sasai riddim for his track tentatively called Mbinga.
Both DJ Fantan and Jah Master were ecstatic about the new riddim and it appears Jah Master will take the crown again as he did on the Nash TV riddim.
Apparently, Sasai is a super-all-in-one innovative mobile app from Cassava Fintech International. The app allows you to transfer funds to your buddies, buy goods and services, pay accounts, split restaurant bills, track expenses and also chat with friends on the go.
The Sasai riddim will mark the duo’s return to mainstream Zim dancehall music scene after their release from jail for violating Covid-19 national lockdown regulations.
The trio was convicted for violating Covid-19 regulations and sentenced to an effective six months in prison after they organised and staged a New Year’s eve all night music concert at Matapi Flats in Mbare.
Harare provincial magistrate Mrs Vongai Guwuriro had initially jailed Damma, born Simbarashe Chanachimwe, (DJ Fantan) and Tafadzwa Kadzimwe (DJ Levelz), to 12 months behind bars, but set aside six months of the jail term on condition they do not commit a similar offence within that period.
In passing sentence, Mrs Guwuriro said fining or committing the trio to perform unpaid work would trivialise the offence.
They were being charged with “partaking and convening a public gathering during a national lockdown period”.
However, they were granted ZW$10 000 bail each pending an appeal hearing at the High Court.
